- Oct 3, 2009   The sixth annual Valle San Giovanni luncheon will take place at noon on Saturday 3 October 2009 at DiPaolo’s Italian Ristorante in Penns Grove, NJ. As always all “Vallaroli” (people from Valle San Giovanni http://vallesangiovanni.com , guests and friends are welcome. Reservations welcom but not mandatory. The price remains just $20 at the door for the best Italian meal and nicest people to be found this side of Italia. Buon appetito!   The ties between Penns Grove http://pennsgrove.wordpress.com and Valle San Giovanni remain strong more than 100 years after the first Italian emigres came to southern New Jersey in search of a better life. Extremely interesting is the connection between the statue of the Madonna located at the Saint James http://saintjames.wordpress.com parish and the annual festival of the Madonna delle Grazie held July each year in Teramo, Abruzzo Italy.

- May 1, 2009 2nd Annual Penns Grove High School Alumni Cocktail Party Friday 6:00pm – 10:00pm   The Washington Club  72 N Virginia Ave The cost is $20.00 per person with a cash bar. The food was great last year and so was the company. Could you please pass this information on to all of your PGHS alumni friends on facebook and in your regular email lists? It would really help a lot. I am going to put an add in the Sunbeam. Tickets will be available at Colonial Liquors, Lou’s Sunoco, Lapps, the PGHS library, Rudy’s Sporting Goods in Pennsville, from me, Dave Gallagher, Howard Hoover and Michele Landew. Let me know if you need tickets to sell and I will mail them to you. Even if you yourself can’t come to the party, please pass on the info to your friends.
