• Fred Morris 1978 Daytona Beach Astros
• W. C. Fields – actor and movie star.   A frequent visitor to Penns Grove where his sister was the manager of French’s Hotel.  She herself lived on Delaware Avenue in what has frequently been referred to as the Cunningham House.
• Bruce Willis – actor and bon vivant.   Penns Grove is also the home of Willis Hardware located on Main Street near the Delaware River. Nearby is a dock where ferry boats led to the city of Wilmington, Delaware.
• John Forsythe (nee John Freund) – actor and thespian.
• Giuseppe (Joseph) Bracale AKA Joe Firpo. Member of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. He was born in Italy in 1910 and came with his family to America in 1925 at the young age of 15 years. His career lasted until 1932.
• Don Bragg – Olympic Champion
